Menifee Lakes Homeowners:
The Truth behind the tragic duck situation has nothing to do with the Recall effort except that it shows how our current Association Board Members refused to step up to our community and acknowledge the practice of duck removal on our lake and that this procedure had been done in the past with their approval. The Board did approve the duck removal and approved to pay to have it done. We offer our sincere apology to Mr. Don Harris and his family for all of the bad information and lies that are circulating in our community from residents and current Board members whose only aim is to keep Mr. Harris from becoming a New Board member. Further comfirmation of duck removal acknowledgement and approval by Board members can be obtained in the Lake Managers Report packet to the Board members for Oct. & Nov 2005 and Jan 2006. Resident and Board members currently running for the board of directors McFarlane, Skari and Schnoor should stick to the facts and stop with the embellishments.

The following statement was prepared by Julie Bigelow of the Emmons Company in response to the duck relocation incident. Julie Bigelow was commanded by the current Board President NOT to send this statement to the publisher of the newsletter where it could have gone to each Menifee Lakes homeowner. The current board further refused to send out a special mailing containing the same information.
NOTICE REGARDING REMOVAL OF DUCKS
Since March, the Association has been working with a contractor to remove a number of ducks from our lake. Just recently, a group of homeowners and residents have expressed concern about this process. We are writing to clarify what seems to be a growing confusion within the community.
Please be advised that this is a process that is performed routinely when the duck population exceeds the population specified in our lake operations manual, in surrounding communities as well as our own. The process DOES NOT involve the killing of any ducks. Rather, the contractor sedates the ducks so that they can be moved safely and comfortably to an off-site location.
Several homeowners and residents have asked why this process is preformed. The Association’s CC&R’s require that we follow the minimum operating standards, which is defined in the operations manual as not allowing more than 35-70 ducks on the lake.
THE FOLLOWING IS THE INCIDENT REPORT FROM APM
