02/02  Say, I REALLY hope you post this comment. I was at the HOA meeting the other night; and it was great to see SAVARD and ROACH get their "come uppins". Wasn't it great the way the board shunned them as being "nobodies" and very unimportant. Of course we all know that Moffitt and Vejar kissed up to them all along, but when people are put on the spot, it is amazing how fast they dump the excess baggage, don't you think?

So now what? It looks as if we are going to have our meeting after all eh? Wonder who "clued the board in" since it is obvious our association attorney does not know anything about anything! Oh well, it is the outcome that counts. I am happy to see that the people who DID vote will have their collective will. That is the way it ought to be. LJ

01/10  Dear Menifee Lakes Reform: Maybe its because the holidays are over and the election is drawing near, but its good to see more letters from frustrated homeowners like myself being sent in. I wonder if, like me, they will be glad when this mess is all over. Next year, I should not have to hear from visitors as I did this Christmas, about all the mess that’s been going on here in Menifee Lakes. I have to admit that it got to be pretty embarrassing. The writer referring to Menifee Lakes as duckgate hit the nail on the head. I also heard the "Ducklady" is only a renter and that she is saving dead ducks in her freezer (why?)  She also has duck pens in her back yard where she cages our wild Menifee ducks.

So I decided to checked it out and it is confirmed that "YES" the "Ducklady" is a renter and "YES" there are wire cages in her back yard for the purpose of caging wild ducks.  So Menifee Lakes the once-beautiful community will go down in history with Watergate as "Duckgate" and we will be explaining it for years. 01/09  I too am a real homeowner (Not Some Crazy Duck Loving Renter.) I want to address the hypocrisy of Chrystal McFarlane, the "wanna- be re-elected" board member who was asked to resign from the Lake Committee by all but Ellen Schnoor (who was also asked to resign). She is the one who only makes about 5 board meetings a year, when she feels her power is at stake, or she is required to be there by Moffitt to support him. In the December Newsletter we were all subjected to the plagiarism of Chrystal McFarlane as she published the "Soldiers Christmas" in an un camouflaged effort to "soften her image" to the community. Of course she did not credit the author with the work, which Chrystal does frequently, but wanted everyone to think she was a poet, as well as a "decent" person.  Nice try Chrystal.

Well, she failed on both counts from my perspective. SHE is the one who edited the article by Mary Carnes regarding the Carnes' decision regarding their annual Christmas decorations. You noticed that the Carnes' (who have given 100 times more to this community than Chrystal could give in a lifetime) much needed explanation was limited to less than a 2 inch half column "paragraph" (BY CHRYSTAL) while Chrystal's "plagiarized poem" was given THREE QUARTERS OF AN ENTIRE PAGE! Why you ask? Because she could!! She is the CONTENT EDITOR. SHE TRUMPS EVERYONE as to what goes into the newsletter! No other Board member even knew what she was doing until the newsletter went to press. Another self serving example of how NOT to lead.

Now here is the interesting part. Chrystal is running for the Board. That means she is a candidate. Candidates are NOT allowed by LAW to use any medium of communication to in any way further their own candidacy without opening up that same medium of communication to ALL candidates at the same time. If the recall fails I will be the first to file for a nullification and re-start the process because of her SELF AUTHORIZED exclusive use of this medium without offering any equal opportunity to other candidates and homeowners. Chrystal using her POWER (much the same as George Moffitt used his POWER to procure the unauthorized label run (without following the procedures outlined in Davis-Stirling) to over power any other individual wanting to write for the newsletter. And she intentionally "bumped" fellow candidate Chris Carnes (actually his wife) in order to better her own appearances. Shame on you Chrystal!!!

Now for the capper. In January she did it again! Yep, she writes an article about a "pastors tablecloth"; a real sappy piece that is designed to evoke deep emotional "feel good" responses about "GOD". Of course this is from the same woman who told Jim Hyneman he was "full of shit" in a widely published email. She also told Don Harris in a similarly widely circulated email "You are full of shit Don". (Now that's what I call real Christian Love ! How about you?). But guess what, she plagiarizes again by failing to give us the author and work cited. And once again she takes the credit for this "beautiful, heartwarming tale" published by her in our opinion to once again 'soften her image'.... which definitely needs softening in my HUMBLE opinion. I would recommend plastic surgery, followed by gastric bypass surgery for a starter... but to each his own eh?

But wait, there is more, she once again as the CONTROLLING EDITOR of the newsletter takes three quarters of a full page without so much as running it by any other Board member. We thank goodness for Don Beckendorf brought this atrocity to the attention of the interim board president Vejar, who reluctantly said she would ensure that Chrystal McFarlane's attempt would not meet with success. I think she muttered "darn it" as she hung up the phone though.

We understand that Chrystal argued vehemently for her right to upstage all other Board Candidates by publishing her 'tear jerker' to convince people that she is not really a liar, or a defamer, or profane person. And once again no other candidates were offered 'equal time'.... another violation of Davis Stirling that she would be answering for if not for Vejar and Beckendorf. She should thank them as she apologizes to our community for her misdeed. But I doubt she will do either. Chrystal was seen out and about "electioneering" in one of the tracts recently, talking to people at their place of voting (their homes) and telling them how to vote. OOOPS..... another violation of the new law. And Chrystal knows better because she is a board member, for a couple of more weeks it seems. You've been a bad girl Chrystal!!! Now go to your room... and no drug taking for a full hour!  BJ

01/08 I am a homeowner that’s a regular-attendee of the MLMA homeowner meetings. There is no doubt that this is a board who has fallen prey to their own personal agendas and lost all interest in listening to their constituency. Seeing the home values decline rapidly, seeing the increase in crime, vandalism and hatred spreading rampantly with no steps taken by our board to protect the community; I agree, a RECALL is in order!

I am left with one question though: WHERE were the TWO men, who are now out to save the board, I repeat WHERE were the two men BEFORE the recall was initiated?? IF they were truly concerned about their community, WHY were they too not regular-attendees of the homeowner meetings?? Yet they pride themselves in living here for many years?? Pride in what?? Their community they never participated in? Have they ever served or volunteered on a committee of community interest? These are legitimate questions to ponder. Doesn’t add up.

Now they want us to think they care about their community? Could they just be out to protect a board who is in their pockets as the Sun City board is? SAVARD was an unknown name and face to the community. ROACH would have been an unknown name and face as well until he fought so hard against the Sun City RECALL. But does he live in Sun City and have the interest of the on-site homeowners there at best interest?? NO, according to newspaper articles, he lives in MENIFEE, but his livelihood is from his 15 rentals in SUN CITY!

Apparently that board has more interest in landlords than they do the actual on-site homeowners in the community! Thus, reason for his involvement. Yes, his purpose in protecting the ‘sitting bullys’ (board) over there obviously was to protect his rentals! I guess I’d be spending $$ to protect a board that’s protecting my rentals too !!

Now brings what many in the community are surmising, JUST WHAT are they working so feverishly to protect over here in Menifee? Could it be that Roach has our ‘sitting-bullys’ in his pockets too, protecting them as he did Sun City and called out his neighbor who just “loves a good fight” to join forces with him….not a good cause….just a good fight ???

All Lake Ridge knows that they are neighbors with Moffitt, the notorious CFO and are in cahoots with him. How do you think they get all their board info?? There’s an undercurrent to their involvement and anyone who is following this recall suspects it. As a homeowner who will be glad when this is all over, I just want the community back they way it was when it drew us here! Without a new board who cares about what’s happening, and takes initiative to do something about it, it will not be. Please settle a question I’m sure all readers are wondering: Why do you think that it was edited so much for the Menifee Lakes Newsletter? Was it Mr. Cadmus, the editor of that newsletter who felt he had to edit their letter? The Carnes letter was a letter to the community and deserved to be seen in entirety by the community! Seeing their beautiful Christmas decorations remain dark this year has caused many rumors questioning why. My visiting family always enjoyed the Carnes’ Christmas display. This year we had to tell them there were no lights because the Carnes had to go away. Not sure my little ones could understand. 12/26  I must say, I have heard a lot of scuttle butt as of late. I do not live in Menifee Lakes, I just have good friends that live there and we visit them frequently. I was so, so disappointed that the man on the corner no longer puts up/out his Christmas lights. I waited all year just to see the miraculous display! I know others did too. Please forward this to him. You of course have your reasons for not displaying the lights, and it cannot be undone that your corner was dark this holiday season.

What I would like to tell you is that all of the little kids who came by to see your house and all of the parents who brought their kids, truly loved the experience, so whatever made up your mind to not display this year, must surely trouble you. I am sorry for that. I wish I could make you as happy as I felt when I left your house last Christmas after seeing all of your lights and being welcomed by you. I was there with my son and you kept telling us to go inside....well I was by myself and not really wanting to go in. We entered at your urging and it was AMAZING. I will always remember your house and hope to see it next year.

People are mean and cruel, and I am really sorry you felt you couldn't display this year. I know that when someone threatens you or your family, you get a sick feeling inside and that sometimes won't go away. Hopefully it will all be over with soon and the decent people will get the outcome they deserve. I look forward to introducing myself to you next December.

12/22 I was hoping you might know the answer to my question, as I get NO response from the Menifee Truth website. What happened to this year's Holiday Decorating Contest?? I could not believe the signs that were put into to the yards of the winning homes. What a slap in the face after these homeowners work so hard and that is what they get for their efforts??!!! What happened to the professional signs of the past years?? I do believe there are going to be some upset homeowners at the next MLMA meeting. It feels like Menifee Lakes is going into the toilet !! 12/21 Well, from Brigata to Willows, as of 9:15 this morning we have so far 7 cars that have been shot up, with we think a bebe gun, shattered windows and body damage.... 12/18  Once again the Board of Directors violates the law! Your 2007 budget should have been mailed 'no later than November 15th, by law. I received mine on December 12th... how about you? (VIOLATION OF LAW)

Remember CFO Moffitt was so 'caught up in trying to get rid of Harris, that he neglected HIS duties to ENSURE that all homeowners had copies of the annual audit by April 1st of 2006. He was 12 weeks late which is a VIOLATION of LAW. But that is only the beginning. IF you look closely at this years budget and compare it with last year's budget you will find the following to be true: 2006 Budget was INFLATED BY $100,000 over actual anticipated expenses. (VIOLATION OF LAW) 2007 Budget ELIMINATES SCHEDULED AND NEEDED RESERVE REPAIRS or postpones them in order to avoid raising dues, in a year in which there is a recall against the CFO. (VIOLATION OF LAW) Putting PERSONAL interests ahead of the financial and physical well being of the association. CFO prepared the budget "borrowing against the future reserve needs of the association against advice of reserve specialist" in order to keep from raising dues in a year when there is a recall against him, and McFarlane and Skari seek re-election. The reserve study shows that we will all pay dearly FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS for Mr. Moffitts self serving plan. Reserves will go up 120% next year, then at least 40% the next, and then 300 percent of what they were supposed to be for the next 30 YEARS!

Thanks George. You know that you probably won't be around to have to pay them, so you saddle us with them. Clearly not in the best interest of our community. By first INFLATING, then DEFLATING the budget needs of the community, CFO MOFFITT clearly shows that he is not qualified to be a CFO of this or any corporation. The Davis-Stirling act CLEARLY states what should and should not be done in regards to budget preparation and assessment collections. Our CFO either has not read, does not understand or just plain IGNORES the law. He has apparently violated the law so many times in regards to our financial matters, that I understand there is a suit in the works to have him removed by a Superior Court Judge! He not only needs to be recalled, he needs to be taking Ginko Baloba !!! I don't believe he is firing on all cylinders!!! IMHO

12/16 - Do we not think it strange and wonder how the most recent MLMA Newsletter cites the growing crime in our community, yet holds increased security for protection captive until we pay the ransom by increased homeowner dues!! UNTIL the current board starts using common sense and evaluates their spending habits, such as: Who in their right mind would waste funds, (reportedly $30,000) for daytime wages to have an elderly woman ride the association-owned-golfcart around the lake asking for identifications, picking up bits of trash, and electioneering for social gratification VS. taking those funds and providing some real security during evening and night hours when most the malicious activity is taking place!! Daytime lake monitoring, not to be considered security, (riding the cart asking and checking identifications and picking up bits of trash) COULD and SHOULD be done on a voluntary basis. I am sure there are many homeowners who would fulfill this volunteer position and consider it as community service and social interaction with neighbors. Thus, this wasted $$ could be applied where it should be - REAL security for protecting the community. Speak up folks and submit your responses to the current Board thru Emmons by January 15th ! Increased dues should come ONLY after they start using wisely the dues we are already supplying them with!! Note: Coincidence that they want responses until Jan 15th...day before elections ?? They really don't give us much credit do they??

12/14 - I find it very interesting that the Carnes’ letter to the community had to be ‘shortened for space considerations’; then ‘edited’ further by Ms. Vejar to delete a sentence for obvious personal reasons. HER obvious reasons of course. Really speaks volumes about a person who can’t lay aside the personal grudges and let the holidays be celebrated as they should be! This is a letter from the CARNES and the community needs to see it; NOT the edited, watered-down version of someone else. The Carnes’ Christmas of goodwill celebrations have become a tradition within the community. It’s a sad day when spirits are broken and tarnished by the very ones they have worked side-by-side with for years! Yet…. the supposed ‘Space considerations and Ms. Vejar’s editing’ allowed MUCH SPACE for a much-too-long article from McFarlane (Vejar’s personal assistant). When will the dictatorship of MLMA end?? If we could buy this board for what its ACTUALLY WORTH and sell it for what it THINKS ITS WORTH; we’d all be rich. 12/13 - Took at look the "Truth" and was totally sickened to my stomach. Understand this Roach character was involved in the Sun City "No Recall Gang". Spoke with a few Sun City residents and was told that this man kept his hands clean somewhat, but had others doing his dirty work. Have to wonder if this is what is going on, so much hatred from the "Truth site". I'm a resident looking for the facts not slanderous entertainment. Took a look at the letter on their site from Halliday. I understand that she is a Native Indian and always signs her name with an Indian identification word at the end. Noticed there was so such word with her signature on the letters on their site. Did notice the letter claiming ignorance did have her little word at the bottom. Could someone be writing fake letters and signing her name?? Wouldn't put it passed Roach and Savard.

It's a shame what these two men are doing to our community. I really hadn't seen or heard of all the misdeeds to our community until these two men came on site and then all Hell broke loose. So glad I'm not Don Harris, feel sorry for his family. This site, "Truth" shows no evidence in mending anything, just threats, or so I took it. Hoping this issue will finally be settled in January however, I feel that it will continue on if you win for I can't see the other side not contesting. I guess then we'll see their TRUE colors. 12/12 - Looks like the Truth site, AKA Menifee Lies, is begging for people to write in. Have run out of lies themselves huh. I know that there are two other website dealing with the Recall and I know that you can't control what gets out (miss information). But this law suit stuff, is it fact or fiction?? The other two sites have talked a lot in the past about suing each other and others, but I hadn't heard until today about the Reform Group suing anyone. Again, is this true?

Answer: We have never filed a suit or plan on filing a law suit against anyone at this point in time. I believe the article you are referring to hints that, with all of the violations and slander being put out, that there could be the potential for law suits, so everyone needs to mind their Ps & Qs. Our goal is strictly not to get caught up in all of this silliness, but to be successful on the RECALL!! Anything else is diversion and we don't have time for that.

12/11 - Far too long the ‘good ole boys club’ has been allowed to hijack the homeowners with their misuse and abuse by elevating themselves with their ignorance of ethics and responsibilities. In the meantime, as they sit on their pompous thrones in their illegal closed covert meetings, our home values are declining rapidly, crime is increasing, homeowners are being abused and treated with lack of respect; because, as ‘they’ like to say “you’re just a homeowner”. This group, under the guise of ‘board’ has only self-gratifying power-seeking-motives and makes decisions solely in accordance with their personal grudges as if to say ‘don’t step on our toes’. HOMEOWNERS – STAND UP ! YOUR VOICE DESERVES TO BE HEARD and never will be with the current board !!

12/10 - We wrote a letter to be included in the newsletter and it was shortened by John Cadmus for space considerations. While we were disappointed, we understood and went along with the condensation. Then, at the 11th hour and 59th minute, Sue Vejar had the last sentence deleted from the letter, which changed the entire aspect of the letter. Now, it will seem to all 1853 homes in Menifee, that we are anti-social, when in fact that is far from the truth. In the middle of all the turmoil our neighborhood is experiencing right now, it’s time to think about the annual Menifee Lakes Holiday decorating contest.

Last year the baton was passed to me and I took over the job of organizing the event. With the help of many volunteers it was another fun and successful contest.

This year, however, our neighborhood is different. We have been verbally and physically attacked by our own neighbors; by some we had never met before and by others who we thought were friends. Whether you are one that is attacking, have been attacked, or trying to stay out of it as much as possible, we all are involved because we all are a part of Menifee Lakes.

Because of the vandalism and personal attacks on many of us in recent months, I can not encourage anyone to set up outdoor holiday decorations for fear they will be destroyed.

For this reason, and this reason alone, it is with great sadness that I will not be involved in the contest this year. If you are interested in continuing the tradition and being on the judging committee this year please let the Emmons Company know.

Instead of spending time trying to figure out what the ulterior motive is to our actions or non-actions, instead of pointing fingers complaining how some of our neighbors are not in compliance with our rules, maybe we could spend time spreading the spirit of the holidays by volunteering to help the people in our community that need and want help.

I applaud Mira Lago for organizing a track clean-up where they worked all weekend helping their neighbors. It was a big success. What harm would it cause if we all did that?

Some of you will probably take what I wrote or what my family does and twist it into something it’s not. It seems to be a popular pastime in Menifee Lakes.

Whether or not we hang a few lights or put up a few decorations, the Carnes house will not be open to the public this season. With the on-going personal attacks to our family and physical attacks to our property, we can not risk the possibility of additional harm to our family, guests or property.

12/08 - Ok folks here we go; waste, waste, waste and we are paying for it! Here is the picture: We pay $30,000 a year for a lake monitor, Pauline Petrie. She works for ASI, but drives our Menifee Lakes golf cart around the lake, and we, the Association pay her salary per our CFO. Check it out for yourself. In the business part of the last Association meeting, the Board granted usage of our golf cart to ASI for Pauline. (For $30,000 get off your butt and walk ....Maybe she'd be too tired to gossip.) Are you sick to your stomach yet!! Our wonderful Lake Monitor picks up trash, asks for badges, spreads rumors, campaigns against the recall and FOR Moffit, McFarlane, Vejar, and Skari; and socializes with her buddies!!! And we pay for this?! There is no supervisor any where around, ever! And what happens when someone refuses to show her their badge?? Maybe a report is made and then again maybe not. Really, what can she do, NOTHING!! It all adds up to a waste. At least at one time there was back up...Don Harris if she needed help with reenforcement, as well as someone to keep her in-check when she decided to socialize at our expense. Now I hear that we have lost our evening lake security guard due to costs, but have decided to keep our lake monitor. Does something smell bad to you? Security guard or lake monitor ?? It's what we call a bonus.... friends taking care of friends at our expense.

12/07 - LASTNIGHT around 11:30 I heard three gun shot blasts. I went down Bridge Water to see if in fact that what I heard. Well not only did I hear three, there were five shots into a car parked on the Street of Bridge Water, about 13 minutes later there were several undercover Sheriff's. They blocked off the street and collected four shot gun shells! Two unmarked vehicles flew down Bridge Water towards Menifee Road. They thought they had the suspects, but did not! They told me they had been here in our community, undercover because of all the crime we are having. One Deputy said he had assigned out here, because of what's been going on here. Those shot gun blast could have very easily went into the front window of the home where the car was parked. I am having a Willows tract meeting. This will be just one of the issues I will be discussing, SECURITY here in MENIFEE LAKES. IT IS VERY CLEAR TO ME THAT WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF NEW SECURITY AND MORE OF THEM. I believe if we don't beef up SECURITY NOW (for awhile), to let these criminals KNOW we are taking CONTROL, we will end up like Perris. WE must take a STANCE IMMEDIATELY! With SECURITY beefed up and made very visual, we are making a statement! This is something I will make sure YOU DON'T IGNORE! DO I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION NOW!!!!!!!!!!! OR DO WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL SOMEONE DOES GET SHOT

12/06 - Dear Home Owners, In case you are wondering what has happened with the Recall and the Election, we didn't meet a quorum, meaning not enough people voted. Each tract must meet a quorum. If for example the Willow tract didn't get enough people to vote, the people in that tract who did vote, their vote doesn't count! But, if you did vote don't worry, you don't have to vote again because the Inspector of Elections, still has your ballot. Therefore your vote will be counted if and when we meet quorum.

PLEASE WE MUST VOTE! We now have until Jan. 16th! You should be getting a letter soon from the Inspector of Elections telling you what to do! You don't have to wait for that letter. I urge you to PLEASE call Emmons 672-4951 and ask for Julie. Julie should be able to answer any questions you may have! If you haven't voted yet and you can't find your ballot packet, you can get that by calling Emmons!

On Nov. 21st, I attended the Budget meeting. In the open session part of the meeting, I brought up the fact the we are in desperate need of a new Security Company since the fact that one Security Officer assigned to 1800-plus homes just doesn't ensure the protection we need. I was told by the Board that we don't need more security and that when I have a problem, I need to call the Sheriff! I then voiced that tires on several cars had been slashed in my tract, The Willows. The Board's response to that was that we "should park our cars in the garage". I reminded them that many homeowners have more than two drivers in the household. Mr. Moffitt responded that he has seen plenty of garages with so much junk in them that you couldn't even get one car in there and that people need to clean out there garages. This is the kind of flippant attitude that one gets from our current Board. This is just ONE of the many reason's for the RECALL!

On Nov. 22 about 12:40 a.m. I went out my front door because for about an hour prior, I kept hearing cars going up down the street. I opened my front door and just feet from my door, is a guy peeing in my yard! Right by my front door, not down along the side of my house, but right there at my gate, which is a just few feet from my front door. By instinct, I yelled "get the blank, blank out of my yard!". There were about six or so teenagers on my sidewalk that were laughing, and said to their friend, "Come on Jesse, lets go" . They then proceeded down BridgeWater toward the Reflections tract, where their group increased to about 15. Cars were parked all over Bridge Water. By now, I am out in the street and hear a loud noise. I wasn't sure if they had run into someone's car or what the heck it was. They came running back toward me, jumped into their cars and sped away, almost hitting me! I grabbed my cell phone, jumped in my car, calling Security while driving down BridgeWater to see if I can see what took place. Several homeowners were outside on their cell phones calling the Sheriff's and trying to get Security. Now I'm still not clear on what happened, but apparently someone threw a brick either at a car or at someone's front window of their home. Someone was standing there crying. I saw that the other neighbors were taking care of the situation so I left to see if I could track down SECURITY and see if I could spot any of the cars that had just raced out of there. Of course I couldn't find any of the cars but I did run into Security. I asked him where in the hell have you been?? He said when he got the call he was on the other side of Newport. He said had been down BridgeWater, had talked with everyone that was down there and that the Sheriff had already been there and left. (I didn't think I was gone that long)! He did say that one of the homeowners, wasn't very happy with him and wanted to know where he had been. The Security Officer said "I'm only one person, I can't be everywhere, you really need more than just me!!!". This kind of stuff is always going on. Someone popped out the window in one of our cars about two months ago, that was parked in my driveway to steal it, but they couldn't... my battery was dead! SO....I ask our Board do they really believe their "NO we don't need more Security" !!!!!!!! Think again board of directors! PLEASE VOTE YES ON RECALL!!!!
